The aim of the project is to get to know the history and legends of all the countries which are joined by the project. Children from the participating schools will be motivated to use modern technology including computers, the Internet etc...

The priorities of the project are:

1) Promoting foreign language education with students and teachers

2) Fostering team work

3) Co-ordinating students actions in various areas joined by one common idea.

As for the school as an institution project meetings create opportunities for teachers to exchange ideas, compare and analyse their didactic skills, their teaching methods and techniques, learn about the organisation and functioning of a school. It is also a chance to reflect on teaching as a process itself. The project is an occasion for many institutions from the local environment to co-operate and share ideas.

The actions undertaken within the project are completely connected with its realisation. The project assumes them to be finalised within 36 months in the three following stages:

Stage one: Getting to know of schools participating in the project by sending “surprise parcels” in which each school will in an interactive way present its school, town, region and country. Next we plan to send letters and then prepare presentations on how Christmas is spent in each country. Also some competitions are to be held concerning the logo of the project.

Second stage: The schools will focus on getting to know the history and legends of each country. Each school will prepare legends connected with the beginnings of the country. We plan to organise competitions for the best presented legends (students will perform, draw or sing).

Stage three: Creating one legend together which will include elements of history of all three countries. The final product is supposed to be in a form of a book and multimedia.

During all three years we plan to organise two project meetings in each of the participating schools. The aim of the project meetings is to summarise what has already been achieved, evaluate and establish in details future actions.

The materials will be spread via the Internet – email contact with the schools and also via the Internet pages of each school, which will promote the project.
